My Favorite Holiday of the Year

There is something about the holidays that slows time down in the best way. The glow of the tree, the ritual of wrapping gifts, handwritten notes filled with intention—this season invites me to be fully present. Every year, I lean into these moments because they bring me so much joy, and honestly, they remind me why this is my favorite holiday of the entire year.

Wrapping presents is never just about the gift for me—it’s about the care behind it. I love layering thoughtful paper, tying ribbons just right, and creating something beautiful before it’s even opened. Sitting on the floor, surrounded by stacks of wrapped gifts, festive books, and ribbon rolls feels grounding. It’s a quiet reminder that joy is often found in the smallest, simplest acts.

The Christmas tree is always a labor of love. I gravitate toward a layered, collected look—ornaments with texture, metallics that catch the light, and details that feel timeless rather than trendy. When the lights come on in the evening, the entire room feels warmer, softer, and instantly more inviting. It’s the kind of glow that makes you want to linger a little longer.

One of my favorite spaces during the holidays is the fireplace mantle. Dressed with greenery, ribbon, and candlelight, it becomes the heart of the room. There’s something magical about the flicker of candles against deep, moody walls—it sets the tone for cozy evenings, reflection, and togetherness.

And then there are the notes. Handwritten messages are my way of extending joy beyond the decor. Taking the time to write something meaningful—to encourage, to uplift, to simply say “I’m thinking of you”—feels like the truest expression of the season. These small gestures carry so much heart, and I believe they’re often remembered long after the gifts are opened.

The holidays, for me, are about creating moments that feel intentional and warm. It’s about beauty, yes—but even more so, it’s about connection, stillness, and joy. Every wrapped gift, every twinkling light, every handwritten note is part of that story.

This season fills my cup in a way nothing else does—and that’s why it will always be my favorite holiday of the year.
